About Dr. Denise Fournier, LMHC

Dr. Denise Fournier has been in the field of psychology since 2003 and working with clients as a psychotherapist since 2008. Throughout her time in the field, she’s studied under Buddhist teachers and refined an approach that integrates modern Western principles of human psychology with the ancient teachings and philosophies of the East. This approach is the cornerstone of her therapy practice, which takes clients through a journey of personal exploration and transformation.

After years of working one-on-one with clients and watching them achieve incredible changes through a combination of therapy and mindfulness practice, Dr. Fournier has decided to make the work accessible to a wider audience. This course is designed to be a self-paced process that serves as part-therapy, part-coaching, part-mindfulness practice, and part-personal development program. By sharing the perspectives and tools that have helped many of her clients achieve great success, Dr. Fournier hopes to help you start transforming your own life through mindfulness.

Breathing Techniques & Coping Skills

This section contains several techniques you can practice to help you soothe your anxiety and bring yourself back to a stable, calm baseline. It's important to keep in mind that not every technique will work the same way for everyone. For example, some people find that trying to use breathing techniques when anxious just amplifies the anxiety. For those people, grounding techniques and other coping methods that rely on distracting the mind away from the anxiety are much more effective. As you go through this section, keep in mind that your goal should be to experiment with these tools and see which ones works best for you.
